Bird Watching Munster
The Province of Munster lies in the southwest corner of Ireland. It is the largest province in Ireland. As a result, there are a wide variety of habitats for birdwatching. Five of the counties have access to the “Wild Atlantic Way“. These include Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Clare, and Waterford.
Tipperary is the only landlocked county in the province. However, it has wonderful access to the River Shannon. This includes the third largest lake in Ireland, Lough Derg.
I have only started to visit birding locations in Munster in September 2021. Birding sites are restricted to Cork, Kerry and Waterford at the moment. However, more locations will be added over the coming months.
