Bird Watching Kerry

Slea Head is a picturesque headland overlooking the Atlantic ocean in County Kerry, Ireland. There are spectacular views taking in a beautiful sandy beach, as well as rocky headlands. There are also beautiful views of the most westerly point of Ireland, the Blasket Islands. The Islands are about 3 miles from the mainland.

It is best to visit here in late Autumn, Winter and early Spring, as it can get quite busy here at other times of the year. It is possible to view seabirds from here as well as Pipits and wagtails. In addition, County Kerry is one of the best counties in Ireland to see Choughs, and there is a good chance that you will see them at Slea Head.

There are extensive areas of parking at Slea Head.
