Dun Laoghaire Harbour
Dun Laoghaire Harbour is a commercial harbour and leisure marina in South Dublin. Two long piers offer long walks out into the bay. Here you can see a variety of gulls, terns (in Summer) and waders. This is also a good place to see divers in Winter including Red Throated Divers, Black Throated Divers and Great Crested Grebes.
Scotsman’s Bay is just a couple of hundred metres from the start of the East Pier. Mediterranean Gulls can be seen here in Summer. Also in summer, the area around the start of the East Pier attracts Black Redstarts. Search for Scotsman’s Bay in Google. There is a car park along the seafront. Bring plenty of coins as it is “Pay & Display”. The Sat Nav co-ordinates are 53.290009, -6.126234 .
It is a 20 minute drive to Colliemore Harbour where you can get a ferry to Dalkey Island.
